Tint a picture using PSE6

Use this tutorial from DSP to tint a picture. It explains how to make it black and white, then to lift some of the original color back in.

PSE6 Andy Warhol's Marilyn




1. Open PSE 6.
2. Google Andy Warhol images.
3. Go to page 4 to find the picture of the 4 Marilyn Monroes.
4. Save the large picture of Marilyn that you will find in the tutorial.
5. To do this right click on it and save it to your My Pictures.
6. Go to PSE 6.
7. Go to file, new, blank file.
8. Width and height 2400 pixels and click ok.
9. Go up to file then open the Marilyn picture.
10. Drag it down to your new grey and white checked picture.
11. Make it fit on one quarter of the screen by dragging corners.
12. Over to the right of your screen in Layers, right click on the picture of Marilyn which is layer 2.
13. Go up to duplicate layer. Press OK.
14. Go back to your main screen and drag the layer across to the right. Do this twice more so that you have four Marilyn pictures.
15. Make the four pictures fit into a square.
16. Crop around them to make them into a square.
17. Click on the move tool then click on the first Marilyn picture.
18. Use Ctrl + U to change the colour (or you can use the filter).
19. Do this for all four pictures.
